just start hiding from your mum and the machine . if she asks if you want bread , dash out of the room and hide behind the couch or something , or in a closet .
and then when she asks you if you heard her be like "huh?"
Goodplan, i’m going to attempt at resetting everything on it so she’s like D;, if that fails, i’m going into stealth mode
why don't you just tell your mom that you're gaining weight rapidly ?
and that bread should only be eaten in certain portions , not everyday ?
like dinner , with butter . or with sandwiches .
if she asks if you have an eating disorder just be like , "no mom , i would just rather be healthy and not slowly eat myself to death" . my mom asks me if i'm starving myself all the time if i'm not hungry . so i get what that's like .
i have and she goes “You look healthy now”. I’d rather look a bit un-healthy to here and feel okay though. i tried explaining but she has literally been like this for like 3 years. Besides, i pay rent and i buy all my own food, i don’t see why i should be forced to eat something that i don’t want to. I’m not 14 anymore.
not sure if my last question sent :( cos tumblr was being a gay
but i said
why dont you just start making your mum loads of bread :P leave trails of bread, wake her up with fresh bread, bread decoration, bread birthday presents. bread shoes ya get ma drift :P X
I cannot stand the sight of the bread machine. It;s watching me, i swear ): I’ll combat her evil ways by arming myself with broccoli and attacking the problem directly. Goodbye bread machine, i hope you like broccoli and apple smoothie >;( x
Lately i’ve been down but not down at the same time. My mum bought this bread maker and she keeps making all this bread and making me eat it. If i refuse she gets all pissy and starts yelling and asking me if i have an eating disorder. I never want to see any bread ever again. There is too much bread in my life, seeded bread, brown bread, white bread, mixed race bread, bread with raisins, bread with cinnamon, bread with chocolate.
Not to mention over the past couple of weeks i have put on like 7 pounds. That’s like 3 and a half kilos or something? I feel disgusting, my skin is bad and i feel like i’m expanding. I. CannotPutOnAnyWeightOtherwiseIWillTearmyselfApart. I know, you’ll read it and be like “you have a problem”. I’d really just like to feel comfortable with myself at my normal weight without being force fed rubbish.
I'm really not trying to start up that vegetarian battle thing going on, I'm just really curious about something. Would you eat meat if they grew it in a lab?
There's a lot of research happening with this right now, essentially eliminating the moral implications of eating meat, or at least making them very confusing. http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20110130/sc_nm/us_food_meat_laboratory_feature_1
Sure Facon has come a long way, but what if you could eat real fake bacon. :)
Oh, Grace, nice one :p
I wouldn’t eat meat even then, no. It’s unnecessary and i enjoy being vegetarian.
This part is particularly disturbing "But there are a lot of products that we eat today that are considered natural that are produced in a similar manner," Genovese said.
"There’s yogurt, which is cultured yeast. You have wine production and beer production. These were not produced in laboratories. Society has accepted these products."
They’re comparing meat, flesh, something that you and i are made of to yogurt and beer. They are completely different. Meat grown in a factory is totally un-natural. Although i get what they’re trying to say, it’s just very different though. “Meat” is a part of a living breathing organism, beer is not.
Hey I saw you postsabout killing animals for food so I thought I would give a point that isn't brought up much. If for some reason animals were to stop being slaughtered for food, eventually they would have to be killed eventually due to the land that humans have consumed. Cows and sheep etc would breed and breed until there numbers rokited and eventually there would have to be a kull, for the sheer numbers. Although I just said this I do understand vegetarians and respect them all the same
you assume that through years and years of breeding that these animals would survive? The thing is, they wouldn’t. Without human intervention most livestock would die. The exception being some breeds of chicken and pigs. The only reason there are millions of animals now is because we bred them, if we stopped there wouldn’t be any.
Then there’s the whole grain to beef argument. None of it is eco friendly.
I'm seriously considering becoming a vegetarian (not because of the arguments going on here, it's actually because of a girl and health benefits) but in terms of converting is it difficult, would I have to take dietary supplements, vitamins etc etc? How did you do it? Did you slowly stop eating or just stop completely?
At first it’s worth taking a good multi-vitamin purely because you’re likely to miss out on a few key vitamins here and there. After a few weeks you can stop that though. Cutting out meat products really isn’t difficult. People are used to consuming really sugary food. The less sugar you eat, the more sugary something tastes. I can eat plain corn flakes and find the sugar in them too sweet, yet most other people would be like “they taste like cardboard”. I find it’s similar with meat, you may initially find most of the convenient vegetarian food a little bland, but if you get into making some yourself, you’ll soon realise there is a whole other world of options out there.
I just stopped eating it, i never wanted to eat it. My nan was vegetarian for as long as i can remember and so is my dad. They say you need to ease your body into it but i really didn’t care, i was never eating mass amounts of meat anyway so i don’t think it was a shock for my body.
But humans are omnivores, we've got canines and have evolved hunting animals. Fair enough we don't actually -need- meat in out diet. but we're only animals ourselves. other omnivores could survive without meat, but they still chase after living things, so I'm not sure what makes that okay and humans eating meat not? (i mean, not okay in your eyes, as a personal decision) What I dislike about the meat industry is the fact that it's all captive. I think every animal should have the right to run from and fight it's predators. But apart from that isn't it all primal instinct?
genuine curiosity here, i do actually respect you for it really.
We farm animals - it has a massively negative impact on our planet - the planet is slowly but surely dying.
We stop farming animals and alter out diets - the planet is given a bit more space to breathe and hopefully begins to regenerate
I know we are omnivores and that we can consume meat, but we do have alternatives that are more beneficial to us in the long run than meat is. If you can be healthy without anything having to die and without supporting an industry with a gigantic carbon footprint, why not do it?
People seem to strive to find a meaning to their existence or want to leave a mark on the world. Why not have a more beneficial impact and leave less of a scar
"If i eat an apple, i do actually eat the core. However, that apple was never happily running around outside mingling with other apples and eating seed, so i don’t feel as guilty about not eating the core if i choose not too."
That is the greatest thing i have ever read in my life. I understand what you were saying, if you choose to eat meat then accept what comes along with that. You're going to get some veins here and there. If you choose to buy meat products prepared in a factory then you're going to get the odd unexpected extra every now and then. Your food was alive, it was another living creature, treat it with the respect it deserves.
I completely understand which was why I said in the beginning that I was talking solely about beliefs. I agree with you about the industries. Also see this though, gay people don't have all the rights they need and deserve. We are hurt by the government, maybe not in the same way as these animals but kids have been killed in gay bashings so I am fighting for those kids and the gay community. Nothing in the world is right. Change is what we need.
I know and i agree completely. When i said that eating the head is just as disgusting as eating any other part i wasn’t saying that eating meat is disgusting. I meant that it’s another part of the same animal and is just as/no less as disgusting as any other part.
In terms of what you’re talking about though, change is coming, change is happening constantly. It will take a generation or two, but it will happen.
I am going to clear this up before I even speak. I am not talking about eating meat or not eating meat and the morals behind that because I know these two topics are completely different, I am speak solely about beliefs. I'm gay and I can respect someone who doesn't believe in that, based on their religion or what have you. It is when they start disrespecting me and trying to change the way I live because they don’t like it, that is when I begin to fight back and that is when I can no longer show them respect. Now, I completely respect your choice to be a vegetarian, I think what these people are trying to get through to you is that they want you to respect their choice to eat meat. I definitely believe a lot of these people are being ignorant in their word choice but look at it this way. I may think people are incredibly stupid for not accepting gays, but I wouldn’t say that to someone because I respect their opinion. But when it comes to the government I will fight for my rights. I think I speak for most of the people who are writing in your ask when I say that is just like you thinking its disgusting that we eat meat, but we would rather you not say it because it puts down our eating habits which is a part of how we live. I believe it’s just something that people, including you and me, need to understand. Everyone doesn’t live the same life or have the same beliefs as us, but that is their prerogative and we should respect that and live and let live whether it is by eating meat or not because there will never be a day where everyone is a vegetarian nor will there be a day where everyone is accepting of homosexuals so I believe we need to just accept that fact.
I understand your point, yet you being gay doesn’t hurt anyone or Earth. I’m against the mass farming and slaughter of billions of animals for the convenience of people. It has an extremely negative impact on our planet, i have learned to dislike that and i stand by that. I’m sure the reason i feel so angry about it though stems from something else. Or perhaps not.
If you think Genna's disrespecting meat eaters, I've seen many worse vegetarians. At worst I've had to eat outside for a vegetarian. Genna's simply stating her opinion, she's not forcing anything on anyone. And although I'm a meat eater I agree with a lot of the stuff she's saying.
I agree with everything you're saying right now.
That's is basically why I became a Vegetarian. I couldn't stand knowing that what I am eating had to be killed. Also, in my head, I had the same experience in that picture. When I had meat in front of me I saw the face of that animal.
So again I completely agree with you
I completely agree with you, how can somebody really say that they feel comfortable eating one body part and be totally against eating enother body part of the same animal? I've brought this up multiple times by people yet they never have a GOOD answer ("because it's grooooooss!"). I'm not a vegetarian, it just never has made any sense to me whatsoever, and the people that unfollowed you are now going to be mocked mercilessly by elephants.
It’s just a more realistic view (i feel), there’s no denial. You’re eating an animal, it has those parts, there’s no problem. I got nothing against meat eaters. Thanks for the message :D
Just to clear it up, there's nothing disgusting or wrong about eating the head for people who eat meat (I'm sure for vegetarians that's different) - there's just nothing there but bone and stuff so there wouldn't be any point. As for chicken brain and facial organs - in ratio to it's head they're probably tiny - so again there's no point. But think about things like pigs. People pretty much eat everything from a pig, and all the crappy bits are what make up hotdogs.
But eating meat doesn't make you any less of a person than it does make you any more of one. I agree that there is all sorts of crap wrong with animal farming and the like today, but It's all what you choose to do. I'm fine with eating meat but I'm not about to use all sort of crap that's been tested on animals because THAT is what is needless. Along with wearing real fur and all that sort of thing.
Blah, I'm such a fucking bore today >.< Just thought I'd be a pretentious arse for you there, goodbye :3
"However, i would respect someone more if they made that step in showing their respect for other living things and their planet." I'm sorry, but by saying that you are saying that people who eat meat are not as good as vegetarians in your eyes and they will never be regarded with as much respect as vegetarians.
No, i’m not saying that. I can relate to someone who shares the same values as i do a lot easier than those who hold opposite opinions about things i feel strongly about. In my eyes it does make people a little bit more compassionate, in others it may make people a little bit more crazy. Opinions are opinions, good or bad, they’re all vicious.
Okay, here is a more simple explanation for you 'uneducated' brain. Chicken wings = tasty. Chicken head = not so tasty. I do respect your decision to be a vegetarian and I'm sure that you're not a horrible person, but just understand that there is a difference between eating a chicken wing and a chicken head and people should be rightly disgusted by it. It's not fair for you to ridicule people just because they choose to eat meat and fast food, just as it isn't fair for people to ridicule vegetarians.
this is the perfect example of when i would start to lose respect for someone. People are too used to having everything at their disposal and just handed to them. Why should people be disgusted by the head? It’s almost as if people believe that they should never have to come into contact with the parts of animals that aren’t advertised. Or is having a head too much? Does that resemble something that was alive more than a battered reformed piece of muscle? I’m not ridiculing anyone. If i get a worm in an apple, i accept that’s how things are.
Simple question, would you disrespect someone because of whether they like meat or not? Would you judge them based on that alone?
Would i disrespect them? Do mean, would i insult them or regard them as holding less value? If so, the answer is no. I wouldn’t insult them, definitely not and i wouldn’t think their life/existence less valuable than anyone else’s. However, i would respect someone more if they made that step in showing their respect for other living things and their planet. It’s not as simple as “would you disrespect them”. I just urge people to consider the implications and repercussions of eating meat.
